The projects listed on this page are some of Jeff's projects which he no longer maintains. Some of the projects have outlived their usefulness; while others have been superceded by other products. If you would like the source code to any of these projects, please contact Jeff.
Some of the projects below have received accolades. Windows Restart was rated 5-stars on a popular Ziff-Davis download site, and Windows Restart and StratoMin were listed among PC/Computing magazine's list of 1,001 Best Internet Downloads in 1996.

OENewsProxy is a simple program designed to fix some of the
problems Outlook Express has with posting to Usenet news servers. Among these
problems are broken "sigdashes," trailing blank lines, and broken quote
wrapping. OENewsProxy works by creating a proxy server that sits between
Outlook Express and your news server. Outlook Express connects to OENewsProxy
which in turn connects to your news server. Most communication between Outlook
Express and your news server passes through OENewsProxy unchanged; however,
when OENewsProxy sees that you are posting a message, it will examine the
message and fix Outlook Expressí problems in the message.
What is Stratoware?
Some of Jeff's older projects are marked as being by or from Stratoware. Stratoware and Perplexic Software were names chosen by Jeff and his friend David Raney for companies that never got much beyond the drawing board. If you find software marked as being by Stratoware or Perplexic Software, it was likely written by Jeff.

Jeff has completed a major reorganization of his web space. This reorganization involved the moving of WebCam2000 to its own domain and the withering of the Stratoware.com domain. A couple of things have also been removed from TheBadPlace.com. For instance, Jeff's archive of school papers is no longer online.
StratoSetup and Windows Restart have also been downgraded to the status of "no longer actively maintained." Jeff might still update them in the future, but he has no plans to do so at this time.
The main part of Jeff's web space is now generated using new site management software. The software is a distant cousin of the software used to create Jeff's KentuckyRoads.com web site. This version of the software uses a collection of Perl scripts to build static HTML pages based on a MySQL database. Jeff plans to test the software, do some refactoring, and release the software at some point in the future.
One of the new features of the site is the ability to comment on "news items" such as this one. See the "view/post comments" link below for more information.
